    Default Reputation Abuse

Several members have achieved a crave to reward reputation for small tasks, example:
    • Accounts
    • Links
    • Referrals
    • Guides(linking to other sites)
    • etc.
Do not reward reputation to members for such minor tasks, it will be catagorized as reputation abuse.

    A clear definition of reputation:
Please refrain from abusing the reputation system. It is intended to reward others for the help they have given, have it being them loaning you some neopoints, posting(creating) a helpful guide or program, posting a helpful reply to your thread, or help through an Instant Messenging Client. It is not intended for randomly giving someone rep in hopes that you will recieve rep in return, to get a member into level 1 after they have complained that they should already be level 1, randomly giving users -rep, or because you are bored.

Although this isn't broad, lets pick out some points here .
posting a helpful reply to your thread, or help through an Instant Messenging Client.
Don't abuse the system by posting a simple solution that you yourself can obtain, members can't seem to find the FAQ. So, in return people give them the link, and the creator of the thread gives them positive reputation. This is a clear act of reputation abuse, simple stupidity.
Alright, your friend helps you over MSN/AIM/Yahoo Messenger, if you intend to give them reputation then provide a good reason to, not "you're cool" "awesome" "nice stuff". Staff won't know where this came from or where it derived, so it will simply be categorized as abuse of the reputation system.
posting(creating) a helpful guide or program
This means that they've created a guide or a program, if the person has linked you to another site for the guide, don't reward reputation. Simply learn to use www.google.com . Programs, they create it, if you find it useful and you use it, then reward them with reputation upon your decision.
Also, let's say you post something that you think is helpful. The thread starter acknowledges your help and closes the thread. A few days later, you see that you did not receive rep. from it. DO NOT bother the thread starter asking them for rep just because you think that you deserved it.

As your reputation power increases, you need to follow this more closely because we do not want 10 rep, 11 rep, etc... flow in the directions of such minor aide that someone has given you.

    Consequences:
      • 1 Infraction, minor abuse.
      • Overlooking your first problem, two day ban.
      • Proceeding with your action, demotion from your current level, negative reputation, and a 3 digit infraction.
      • Lastly, if you don't care, then you'll simply be banned for good.
Simply put, reputation is to be earned by a responsible decision, don't abuse it.
